6TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

To me it seems like just yesterday but this past Sunday marked my 6th year wedding anniversary with Martha but we have been together for 7 years before that. This year’s anniversary adventure started in a way that we more wish that we could forget but got better after the initial hurdle.

7:45pm – Anniversary Dinner attempt at Kikuya Kaneohe

We thought we would go here because the 1st time we came here on the recommendation of a friend we immensely enjoyed the food here. But that wouldn’t be the case when we tried to go again for our anniversary. We understand if a restaurant is crowded that there will be a wait. But what we don’t understand is that when we notified the waitress we were ready to order she informed us that we couldn’t order until the table with a reservation ordered. The kicker was since we were sitting right next to that table we knew that their whole party had not arrived. Were we suppose to sit there til their missing members arrived, looked over the menu and placed their order before we could order? We decided that if service was this bad we didn’t want to stay there and decided to go somewhere else.

8:45 – Anniversary Dinner Take Two at Shiro’s Saimin Haven

At this point we wanted something that we know and are comfortable with. The food and service didn’t disappoint. I think this is where we are going next year. Don’t want any surprises. Lol

DEATH THE FINAL CHAPTER?!

Let me start of by saying I don’t plan on dying any time soon. Hopefully. This is more that my wife’s past co worker pasted away and her funeral was last night, while at the same time another co worker of her’s had their uncle pass away. I guess death is something that is all around us and sooner or later it is our time. It sucks to be at the age where you feel that it is almost a necessity to read the obituaries every day to check if someone you know passes away. For people like me living with the conditions we do it makes us think more about our own mortality. I wonder who will attend my funeral when I pass away, will anyone even notice that I passed away. I know its stupid but I worry if my funeral will have enough food. I sometimes think it would be cool if someone wrote a Yelp review of my funeral on the services, food etc. (just make sure to give it 5 stars or I’m going to haunt you), Foodspot the food that is served, make a Foursquare check-in of the event (wonder who would be the mayor), etc. In the end I don’t think death will be the final chapter. I hope that the pictures that I take, the words that I write help me to live on if not forever but a little.
